Explore the gastronomic diversity of Moabit in a sustainable way during the summer vacations
The summer vacations in Berlin start in a few weeks and the Geschäftsstraßenmanagement Turmstraße offers in cooperation with our project again a Culinary Journey.
Come along on a tour of local gastronomic establishments in the area! You will be offered tastings that reflect the culinary diversity of the neighborhood. In addition to sampling bites and drinks, participants will learn more about the food, spices, and stories of the restaurants and cafes.
In addition to the culinary diversity in the neighborhood, the topic of sustainability in the restaurant industry is an important concern for us. The participating establishments will show you how the amount of waste in public spaces can be reduced by using reusable packaging. Food and drinks are filled into reusable containers. It becomes clear that reusable packaging is hygienic, resource-saving, sustainable and not all that complicated!
So for the tour, be sure to bring your own reusable packaging (reusable box and cups) so you can participate.
We invite residents from the district as well as Berliners who want to explore Moabit from a culinary point of view. So you don’t have to travel far to get there.
When? Thursday, July 20 and 27, 2023 from 2 p.m. to about 5 p.m.
Where? Around the Moabiter Turmstraße (you will find out the exact meeting point after registration).
Participation is free of charge. Please write us in the registration mail:
- Which food did you order for takeaway last time?
- Do you already have a perfect reusable container for your favorite dish?

In addition, you avoid littering in the neighborhood, reduce marine litter, conserve valuable resources, and at the same time do something good for the climate and for sustainability in your company! If your team manages to win the Challenge, the crate will be given to the business free of charge.
Together with the gastronomy and the other participating businesses, you will make reusable the new normal in the Turmstraßen-Kiez!
