Information event on November 11th
The amendment of the Packaging Act brings some changes for catering businesses. In addition to the single-use plastic ban ordinance, which has already been in effect since July 2021 and has taken plastic products such as straws and polystyrene boxes off the market, the so-called reusable offer obligation will follow on 1 January 2023: Catering businesses that sell take-away food and beverages must offer their customers reusable alternative and inform them about it. The implementation of the regulation depends on the size of the business and the number of employees.
On 11 November 2022, the team of the project “Mehrweg statt Einweg – Müllreduzierung im Lebendigen Zentrum Turmstraße” (reusable instead of disposable packaging – waste reduction in the Lebendiges Zentrum Turmstraße) will present the most important aspects of the law for gastronomy businesses in and around Turmstraße in 60 minutes and will be available to answer questions. Possible reusable alternatives will be presented on site. In addition, there is the possibility to book a free individual advice session.
The information event will take place at 9 a.m. directly in the neighbourhood, at the Stadtteilladen Turmstraße (Krefelder Straße 1a, 10555 Berlin). Registration at mehrwegstatteinweg@life-online.de
